Well, I'll also proposed that the vet. The veterinarian is an explanation and a solution. It can cause many things, but exactly what time to know to the vet. It can be expensive, but worth it.
One of my dogs suffers from loss of hair on the back just above the tail and feet. You connect to chewing and biting.
I took her to the vet and they have a scratching of the skin, as eczema. In the case of my dog, that is the result of a food allergy.
Eczema can also be caused by temperature fluctuations (as in a house caused it in the heat of Aced or vice versa)
